I'm back in black?...no, gray :)
It's been a long while since my last post. I'd like to tell you that since that Bahamas trip a lot has changed...and most of the change happened this past week. I recently got married (we eloped), I've visited Niagara Falls, Canada, cruised in Alaska, evicted my tenants, quit my job and veering off to help my husband with his growing company, alongside starting my own. I am in the process of remodeling the house that I was renting, those tenants left a huge mess! The repair costs have exceeded what I expected, but so far the house is starting to look really nice. I've decided to move into the property rather than rent it out again. Being a landlord is like a part time job...and at the time that I was working I didn't have the time nor the energy to really give that responsibility what it required in order for me to be successful. But I feel good. There are a lot of things on my plate which can be stressful, but life pretty much consists of small stressors all balled up into one, doesn't it? At least for grown ups it does :\
Let's focus on the bright side of things in my life. Let's start with the color of the floors and walls that I have chosen, it just sorta happened and I'm loving it. The combination of gray walls and warm oak flooring exudes this sort of calm and intriguing energy. Sort of like a yin yang effect with the cool walls and warm flooring. I took some so-so pics tonight, here, take a look:

Ideally, this is what I would like the design to look like now that I've had a chance to Google (the new name for searching the web haha) some ideas:

I love how the colors just pop! Next time you're outside under gray skies, notice how the car's colors look different than on most sunny days. The colors seem vivid next to the gray background. I think it's lovely :) For my next post I'll have to share a bit of the decor I choose to go with. On the meantime, to see more of my aesthetic taste check out my tumblr: www.luminousbeam.tumblr.com
